Hello, I’m Han Jae-gil, the head of the Incheon Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Center and the Incheon Technopark Future Industry Promotion Bureau. Incheon’s consortium has been selected for the project for the establishment of “Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Centers” hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
On June, 2022, 4 institutions, which included Incheon and Incheon Technopark, were chosen for the project for the establishment of “Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Centers” hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
The Korean medical device industry has grown drastically since COVID 19 due to the rise of excellent external diagnostic devices, but it is not widely used by medical institutions. The biggest reason behind this is that the medical staff lack experience in using medical devices made in Korea.
“Incheon Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Center” provides a systematic education program for medical staff on everything from theory to hands-on education, aiming to increase the awareness of Korean medical devices and to have the medical staff have more experience using it.
We not only run education programs for Korean medical devices, but we also run a permanent exhibition to strengthen advertisement for Korean medical devices.
Moreover, we are expanding our education program to overseas medical staff by taking advantage of Incheon’s excellent human resources and location, aiming to be the trigger of Korean medical devices being used abroad.
We will do everything in our power to ensure that “Incheon Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Center” will lay the foundations for the development of the domestic medical device industry. Thank you.
HAN JAEKIL, head of the Incheon Regional Korean Medical Device Education&training Support Center
