Details

1. Spinal Deformation Surgery Strategy

Learn surgical strategies for patients with spinal deformities ranging from pediatric and adolescent scoliosis (AIS) to degenerative lumbar scoliosis (DLS) in adults,

Director Kim Yong-jung lectures on the surgical approach and correction principles of these scoliosis patients to enhance their understanding of vertebral deformation by age group (children to adults)

2. Sagittal plane imbalance correction technique

Advanced techniques to correct sagittal plane (front and back) imbalance, which is commonly a problem in patients with spinal deformities,

Professor Hyun Seung-jae of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital lectured on spinal osteotomy techniques (e.g., PCO, PSO, VCR, etc.) to deliver principles and techniques to correct complex spinal deformities

3. cervical and pelvic fixation techniques

Learned and practiced on the fixation techniques from the upper cervical spine to the pelvis, which are necessary for severe spinal deformation correction.

Professor Kim Kyung-hyun of Yonsei University introduced the occiput-upper thoracic fixation (Occiput-T-upper) technique, and Choi Jin, director of Woori Hospital, introduced the thoracic-lumbar-iliac fixation (TLS and iliac fixation) technique to train how to insert safe fixtures throughout the spine
